Social Commons is an initiative of Common Thread. Common Thread creates spaces where nonprofits and mission-driven entrepreneurs can grow while meeting the needs of residents in historically underserved neighborhoods. Our community hubs support small businesses, educational institutions, workforce development programs, and wellness providers in unique, convenient, and accessible venues.

Social Commons provides accessible, shared space for nonprofits, community organizations, and local entrepreneurs working to do good in the historic neighborhood of Titusville and beyond. We believe that when good people have good space, good things grow.

Social Commons is a six-acre, two-building campus located in the historic Birmingham neighborhood of Titusville. Social Commond serves as a trusted entry point for organizations and a framework for collaboration. We bring together employers, learners, nonprofits, and mission-driven entrepreneurs so each partner can concentrate on their mission while multiplying their collective impact.
We believe revival begins when people and organizations serve together — sharing space, stories, and purpose. Everything at Social Commons BHAM is built around three commitments: opportunity, dignity, and connection.
Social Commons BHAM grew out of a simple conviction: to revive a community, you must first create a commons. Rooted in Titusville, one of Birmingham's most historic neighborhoods, we exist to be that place — where people meet, listen, and serve together.
